Inderjit Bhatia (IJ Bhatia) had his early education at St Peter's High School, Mandalay. He graduated from the University of Mandalay. He was for some time a tutor in the Department of English, University of Rangoon. On return to India, he went for his M.A. in English at the University of Delhi. He joined Shyam Lal College as a Reader in English. He retired in 1992 and moved to Nasik.His eldest son is in Nasik. Two sons are software engineers in America. He visits them on a regular basis.
