Arya Samaj

Arya Samaj is a socio-cultural organization founded in 1875 by Swami Dayananda Saraswati, with the aim of reforming Hinduism and promoting Vedic teachings. It is not considered a religion in the traditional sense because it does not have its own set of religious scriptures or a particular deity that is worshipped.

Instead, Arya Samaj emphasizes the principles of Vedas, which are considered the oldest Hindu scriptures. It promotes the values of truthfulness, morality, and social justice and seeks to eliminate the superstitious beliefs and practices that it views as incompatible with Vedic teachings.

Arya Samaj encourages its followers to live a simple and austere life and to perform daily devotional practices such as the recitation of Vedic hymns and the practice of meditation. It also places a strong emphasis on education and encourages its members to pursue knowledge and self-improvement.

In summary, Arya Samaj is not a religion in the traditional sense but rather a socio-cultural organization that promotes the principles and teachings of the Vedas.
